  • Delilah’s Bakery: Take a step inside and you’ll be taken back in time to the kind of bakery your grandma would have visited as a little girl.  Delilah’s is a quaint piece of cupcake heaven on the quieter part of Echo Park Blvd.  Try the red velvet cupcake—it’s divine.   • Lark Cake Shop: This 20-year veteran of the neighborhood uses locally-produced ingredients whenever possible, is a part of a California co-op dairy and is committed to compostable table and to-go ware.   • Alcove Café and Bakery:   One of the only eateries around that goes the full environmental distance, the Alcove is part of the Green Restaurant Association.   • 826LA East :  Hang out with students in Echo Park and help them with reading and writing skills, all in an inspiring space straight out of Hogwarts—there’s even a Time Travel Mart out front filled with curiosities for all ages.
