Eco-Fashion Favorites for the Season from Green with Glamour

Even when the temperatures rise, the idea is to still look fresh, right?  Here are my picks for keeping cool (and looking cool) this season.

For me, dresses are essential for every season and summer is no exception.  The gauzy organic cotton PI Organics is using is a-ma-zing!  Super-lightweight and hand tie-dyed, this ruffle halter dress is perfect for any outing, from the Farmers’ Market with flip flips to an evening out with mile-high wedges.

Kaftans (both vintage & new) are a serious obsession of mine.  I virtually live in them during the hotter months.  Whether poolside over my bikini or with bejeweled sandals and hoop earrings for an evening event, the kaftan is my main jam!  I’m currently loving the Fleetwood kaftan by She Bible.  I wear mine at least once a week!  It’s flattering and forgiving, light-weight, versatile and even eco-friendly!

When I’m not doing the dress thing, I’m in shorts – at the office, out shopping or at dinner with friends. Kelly B’s Brook sailor shorts are my absolute new favorites.  They’ve got a yesteryear film star vibe – part Katharine Hepburn/part Marilyn Monroe.

To finish off any summer look, I’m quick to grab my Mercedes Satchel by Hemptress.  It’s got an easy elegance and is just the right size!  It’s a must as it can fit my over-sized sunglasses, Blackberry, big wallet and a tube of lip balm.  I’m digging the subtle pop of color as well!

Speaking of sunglasses, the lightweight and statement-y Bamboo sunglasses by Kayu are my go-to eyewear for summer.  I’m a devotee of big glasses and these are about as cute as can be!

And because I can’t leave the boys behind: I’m a bit in love with the signature flying squirrel Topo tee by Topo Ranch.  I typically prefer my men in collared shirts, but this organic cotton number just speaks to me.
