Love Grows From Trees

Love Grows From Trees

Yes, love can really grow from trees, and it can even grow new ones! Check out two of my fav trendy companies that plant trees with love for every product sold.

Andira Rain Tees

Andira=a tall tree in the Brazilian Amazon used for centuries by indigenous people for medicinal properties (remember Avatar?). Due to logging, oil drilling and agriculture, the tree is nearly extinct. This is no movie. Real life hero Beth Doane created Rain Tees in 2007 to educate consumers and the industry on how toxic fashion has become, inspired by this beautiful tree.

Save trees and keep fashion clean! Andira Rain Tees are produced using fair labor practices and made of super soft 100% organic cotton with unique illustrations (love them all!) created by children who live in endangered rainforests. Andira donates school supplies to local schools and asks them to draw what they observe around them. For each child involved, a tree is planted to replace one that has been destroyed by these industries. This equates to 1 tree for every tee. Now that’s math everyone can understand.

YDT Giveaway: Rain Tees is giving away two inspirational tees to 2  ydt subscribers. Hurry, as these won’t last long!  To enter subscribe to our free daily email.  If you already subscribe, simply invite friends.

I found a soundforest.org booth last weekend at a music festival I attended. I bought a very cute tree shirt for a donation of $25 and they will e mail me a catalog number and I will have the gps location and a picture of the tree after it is planted.
