At YDT headquarters, Earth Day is sorta like New Years in that we think about how we can be better, especially when it comes to being green. Let’s face it we’re not perfect and we definitely have things we need to work on.

How about you? Do you have any Earth Day Resolutions? What do you think about ours? We’ll check back in a few months and see how we all did.
Beauty Editor Alissa:
to be a rad recycler in home accessories and furniture. Hit up local flea markets and garage sales for rare goodies that need a new home instead of buying new! also arranging to have swap parties where friends can get together and exchange goods for a refresh in their life.
..
Editor & Green Living Editor Danielle:
*To get growing again now that I’ve got the awesome raised bed my new landlord just built for planting veggies–and to try growing from seed.
*To take the bus for short rides (as they won’t trigger my motion sickness).
*To continue the process of eliminating stuff from my life and being as minimal as possible.
Fashion Editor Connie:
Refuse anything disposable that I don’t need – disposable silverware, disposable plastic bags, etc. Stop driving and start walking. Buy used whenever possible. Eat local, organic, and sustainable produce.
..
Contributing Editor Angie:
No more to go cups. I try to avoid them now, but I really want to completely eradicate them from my waste stream.
..
…
Weekend Guide Editor Sara:
To get my butt in gear and out of the car. Summer’s right around the corner, and what better way to get in shape than to walk, jog or even bike to local destinations? Goodbye traffic, hello bikini-ready bod.
..
Co-founder Tracy:
Less car, more bus, walk and bike. Commit to commuting on the bus on my weekly trips to the west side especially. Commit to cooking more locally, low on the food chain and eating at home.
