Preloved: A Second Chance at Love

Preloved: A Second Chance at Love

We really like the upcycled fashion concept that’s been gaining exposure these past few years – as in, taking discarded and unwanted materials to create “new” ones.  In fact, we think we might even have a bit of a crush on one upcycled fashion line: Preloved and its fun designs made from reclaimed vintage fabrics.

According to Preloved, its clothing line saves a stunning amount of unwanted apparel from ending up in landfills each season: around 80,000 sweaters, 50,000 pairs of pants, 10,000 dress shirts and 7,000 trench coats.  Skirts can be made from khaki pants, jackets from raincoats, and tops from dress shirts.

The Fefe Cocktail Dress ($198) is made of curtains and trench coats, which might sound like a Frankensteinian mishmash of fabrics, but the result is a charming strapless party frock.  We also like the dress-up-or-dress-down Carmen Dress ($170.10) and the perfectly on-trend, colorblocked Kirby Skirt ($120.60).

To further utilize some of its reclaimed fabrics, Preloved also recently introduced an accessories and home line, so almost all of these found textiles get another chance at gaining the love of a lucky fashionista.

Preloved is designed and manufactured in Canada. Yankees like us can find this charming line carried in Anthropologie stores, or visit the Preloved online boutique!
