Here are recent photos of the L.A. River near Griffith Park after recent rains. As you can see, many plastic bags are clogging up the river (and these aren’t even the one’s that made it to the ocean).

Remember, always Bring Your Own Bag (and if you do have to use a plastic one, make sure you recycle it properly).

Plastic bags are sooooo horrible. I’ve written several posts about them. I think it’s one of the easiest things people can do to help out. Just use your own bags. I don’t understand anyone that decides they will not use a reusable bag. I’d love to know the logic there. Grrr.

I live in Los Angeles, and unfortunately, it is a common sight to see. I completely agree with the comment above, for a city that is all about trends, why haven’t people picked up on the resusable bag?!

While many of us are in support of the plastic bag ban in Los Angeles, the legislation to make that pass or even place a tax on plastic bags is getting held up in legislation. Write your representatives and let them know you want to see this happen.
