Your Daily Thread wants you to Go Eat, Go Drink, Go Out This one-day only fundraiser takes place throughout Los Angeles and will benefit Aid for Aids and The Serra Project (15 percent or more of proceeds will go to these charities). All you have to do is eat and drink to do some good. Participating restaurants, theaters and clubs range from Santa Monica to Pasadena, West Hollywood to Silver Lake, and beyond. The situation: you live in an apartment and would like to start your own vegetable and/or fruit garden, but feel you don’t have the space to do it. The solution: gardening expert Darren Butler’s Small Space Food Gardening workshop! Designed for apartment, condominium and other “urban dwellers” with limited land, this one-day course will introduce you to methods for growing your own edible organic garden in a tiny plot (think windowsill container gardening, watering methods and soil management). The Venice Green Film Series kicks off its three part film series this Sunday, February 28, with a showing of filmmaker Josh Tickell’s FUEL. Winner of the Sundance Film Festival’s Best Documentary Audience Award, FUEL focuses on America’s addiction to oil, its consequences and some alternatives that will help us wean ourselves off this addictive substance.
