Holiday giving this year can be more than just shopping at the mall.  Check out Unique Los Angeles, an independent design and gift sale happening on December 5th and 6th that will showcase the best of Los Angeles’ designers and artists.

This year Unique Los Angeles has launched The Green Room that will feature over 50 organic and environmentally-minded vendors.  You’ll certainly be able to find something there for that special greenie in your life.

When you need a break from shopping, come relax at the Eco-Lounge curated by the Your Daily Thread Team that will feature green design from Cisco Home, Vertu Studio, Eco-Lux Landscape and will be the place for music, refreshments from Honest Tea, an eco-book nook with reading from Chronicle Books and Good Magazine, socializing, giveaways and various Holiday DIY workshops with a sustainable twist.

Workshop Schedule

• Saturday and Sunday (12/5-6) the Your Daily Thread Team will lead
  
  creative green gift wrapping workshops to keep you from wasting virgin trees by using  such as left over scraps, newspaper and unwanted found items to make your presents pretty

• Saturday (12/5) Seed Floral will teach you how to make unique living gifts with eco-floral design. Using materials from nature and local vendors, participants will learn how to sculpt organic materials into one-of-a kind  pieces of living art. Participants are encouraged to take home their stunning arrangements at the end of the workshop and give them away as gifts.

• Sunday (12/6) Downtown Fashion Stop Apliiq will bring you the experience of fabric self-expression.  They will teach you how to make handmade gift bags and wallets using recycled fabric scraps (no machines are required).  We’ll be using needle and thread and will bring some fun old fabrics to play with.  This event is BYOT (Bring Your Own Thimble).
