Burning Torch Clothing: Luxe and Local
Burning Torch is a Los Angeles-based clothing line that uses luxurious recycled fabrics to create unique men’s, women’s and children’s fashions with fun, distinctive silhouettes. Using repurposed vintage materials helps reduce waste, and the cashmere and silk materials make for glamorous “green” garments.
Burning Torch is the vision of UCLA grad Karyn Craven, who combines cultural elements as well as modern style in her wearable designs.
We’re fans of the tailored Cashmere Jacket ($590) – its lace detail at the waist and sleeves makes it a lovely topper to any fall outfit. The men’s Recycled Cashmere Hoodie ($525) is a classic zip-up hoodie in recycled cashmere fabric. The Children’s Pink & Purple Cardigan($175) is a cute color-blocked cardigan, also made out of recycled cashmere.
Seem like something sweet to add to your holiday wishlist.

Burning Torch is one of my favorite lines EVER! And not just because I work for them. Actually, I’ve freelanced for Karyn off and on over the years because I want a discount on her gorgeous clothes, and it’s a great place to work.
I have a bunch of her recycled cashmere sweaters, and wear my men’s hoodie every night at home. She also does some gorgeous pieces using recycled military uniforms and other types of garments, even beaded dresses. Oh, and we’re having a studio sale in November. Get on the mailing list to stay informed.
Yes, readers, it’s more expensive than that Chinese-made cashmere sweater you’ve been eyeing at the mall. But that’s because it’s far more labor intensive, and all that hard work was done right here in Los Angeles, where working conditions and pay far exceed those in most other countries.
