Puresa Organics

Reusable cloth bags have become a popular method of reducing the use and waste of plastic but for many conscientious shoppers, style remains as important as function.  Puresa Organics solves both issues, creating earth friendly bags that have individual flair, but they take “responsible” to another level by adding an important humanitarian element — every bag is handmade by women in Nepal who have been rescued from human trafficking.

Human trafficking is quickly becoming pandemic, predominantly affecting women and children who are kidnapped and forced into prostitution.  Those lucky enough to be rescued have a difficult time adjusting and usually find themselves unacceptable members of society.

Puresa Organics, co-founded by top model Giselle Meza, provides employment and a chance for

empowerment, respect and sustainability for women rescued from slavery.  These fairly traded organic cotton and natural jute bags also raise public awareness for the growing social injustice of human trafficking.

Puresa Organics is also a proud supporter of Fair Trade the White House, a campaign to invite First Lady Michelle Obama to declare her home a fair trade home.  If Michelle Obama accepts the invitation, Puresa will provide fashionable bags to the First Family and White House staff.
