I'll give you two--I bought a Brita water pitcher and a pretty stainless steel bowl for my shower that I use when I turn off the water to shave and need to rinse to rinse my razor. Prior to that I didn't like turn off my water and it's so easy and cheap to implement.

The biggest green commitment I have made is to make sure I buy with more care. I often give my own art pieces, local art or handmade/indie company's items as gifts and I eat only vegetables and food I get from the local farmer's market . The farmer's market is a great way to feel a bit of community in a very separatist city. I cook for my neighbors and we have lots of communal meals. In the end, we all save money plus enrich each others lives by being generous and spending time together. Now each purchase I make is thoughtful and not compulsive and in the end I treasure everything I own and give to others. It has been a great gift. I am much more healthier and very happy!

I have always used a refillable water bottle, canvas grocery bags and grown my own veggies but I was tired of sitting on the freeway guzzling gas so I changed jobs! I am now able to walk to and from work, rather than sitting in LA traffic contributing to so many environmental problems. Not only is it totally eco-friendly, it's been a great way to get to know my community better.

I have learned to cook which means I no longer buy packaged/frozen/premade items and only shop at the farmers market.

Sitting in a hundred degree weather and watching my little garden wilt in the heat, I only realize the importance of water in a southern Cali more and more.

I installed a low flow shower head, and have been turning the water off when I shave my legs. It saves a lot of water and I have gotten really efficient with my shaving routine!

I feel blessed to live where I can now bike to work/errands, join a coop and csa for our groceries and volunteer to support local growers and artisans. We have an annual Earth Day celebration that I'll be volunteering at as well. GO GREEN!!!
