A Swiss company called SIGG produces internationally renowned, reusable water bottles that you might own, or have seen amongst your eco-friendly friends. SIGG’s durable bottles are recyclable, but maintain the proud label of “World’s Toughest Water Bottle” from Backpacker magazine. There has recently been concern regarding trace levels of BPA (also known as Bisphenol A, a hormone mimicker that research suggests may have carcinogenic and reproductive effects) in their bottle lining. The company assured consumers that no BPA has ever leached from their bottles into water, which has been a problem with plastic water bottles in the past, but SIGG will still offer free replacement bottles with BPA-free EcoCare liners.
