The Blue Green Alliance is a coalition of labor unions and environmental groups who have united against climate change. The alliance contends that creating legislation to fight global warming will not cost America jobs, but will in fact create much-needed jobs in this rough recession. As Leo Gerard, head of the Steelworker’s Union stated, when it comes to fighting the recession and climate change, “you’re either going to have both, or you’ll have neither. Gerard argues that America must work to remain a leader in the creation and installation of green technologies, and with this transition will come jobs. The Blue Green Alliance will begin a “Made in America” jobs tour tomorrow, advocating environmental legislation for the creation of clean energy jobs.
