Eat & Drink
Not being a vegan, I was leery about my first experience of vegan cuisine, but one mouthful of garlic “chicken” and a handful of fries from the vegan plate before me was all it took.
The casual atmosphere and simple design parallel the cuisine. The focus is unadorned, healthy food and a wide range of meat-free options, each with its own unique taste in the form of curries, salads, burgers and wraps. Some of my favorite dishes include Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce, spring rolls, French fries, garlic soy chicken, soy orange chicken and pad thai.
For the cost conscious consumer, an additional bonus is the affordable and filling lunch specials that include an entree, rice, salad and an egg roll. The food is great and the service is friendly, what else to enjoy? How about a random selection of new and dated pop music that never disappoints, Savage Garden seems to be a favorite.
So now I am hooked and have been dragging my carnivorous friends along and they always walk out with happy, satisfied bellies. If you’re hungry after trolling Ventura’s eclectic shops, grab a bite on the boulevard and walk out with a satisfied spring in your step.
