Viper Black began as a collaboration between cousins and art lovers Jedrek Speer and Russell Vare. They’d already been making their own shirts for years, and decided to take it further by starting their own eco-friendly t-shirt company. The t-shirt designs are inspired by graphic images from Speer’s old sketchbooks, and are typically simple but striking, with a definite edge.
For Viper Black, there was never much of a reason not to make their company sustainable. All of their shirts are printed on 100% organic cotton, which beyond its environmental benefits, is also ideal for its quality, fit and durability.
Viper Black tees are printed with low-impact dyes and water-based inks. Previously, much of the clothing production was done abroad in Turkey, India, or China, but the company is increasingly using local vendors to reduce the CO2 emissions from transport and to make it easy to visit facilities personally to ensure safe production practices.ydt Giveaway: Organic tees

I can’t give up my seatbelt bag, it’s my old standby. It’s the basic black and I actually found it resale, so it was twice as nice, earth-wise!

My absolute favorite eco fashion pieces are the high end vintage and second hand pieces from my neighborhood consignment shops, Gotta Have It and Bohemian Exchange in Venice, CA.
The most environmentally friendly (and inexpensive!) way to get the wardrobe of your dreams is to buy on consignment. It’s reusing and also purchasing local from a Mom and Pop. I even ride my bike there.
There’s this one navy blue and cream blouse that could be walking down the runway at Paris fashion week… No new materials were necessary for my purchase, it cost me $30, everyone loves it, and nobody else has anything like it. Win, win, win.

Well, my daughters rejects, I resew old clothes/fabric or the old standby, second hand stores. Just to have a few favorites or non-threadbare is good.

I just love my funky little eco-friendly sneakers from Simple Shoes. They don’t look like traditional sneakers, actually. They kind of look like a cross between clogs (which I love) and athletic shoes…which is cool because I can dress them up a bit with khakis or just wear them with jeans. By the way, I would really prefer a size Large in the t-shirt.
Thanks!
