Ciudad-Cuisine: Cocktails and Cigars Under the Stars.
On Thursday June 11th, head Downtown for an amazing evening of cocktails and cuisine at Ciudad. The summer soiree is being hosted in conjunction with Zaya Gran Reserva Rum. Ciudad uses organic ingredients in its fare, like organic long grain rice, beans, eggs and milk to name a few. It also features seasonal, locally grown produce when possible. Know Your Mushrooms: A Film on Fungi
From June 12th through the 19th you can watch Ron Mann’s documentary film “Know Your Mushrooms”. The film features mycologyists Gary Lincoff and Larry Evans discuss the magical world of Fungi. The film combines flora, fauna with archival footage, animation and music from the Flaming Lips.

Head Over to Weho and Go Green with Pride
June 12th you can come out for a cause. Celebrate the 39th Annual LGBT Pride Celebration in West Hollywood kicking off on Friday and going all weekend long. The event will feature a variety of entertaining activities for activists of all backgrounds. Please note–there is an admission fee; tickets are $15.00 per day with advance purchase and they’ll be $20.00 per day if you buy at the door.

Grand Opening of Food INC.
Food INC officially opens in Los Angeles, NYC and SF on Friday June 12. FOOD Inc, is a thought provoking film project created by authors Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation) and Michael Pollan (In Defense of Food.) The film reviews the current social and political situation that are at the forefront of the food industry. The subjects it confronts range from fast food to farmer bullying plus how we can make a difference and bring change.

The sun: a symbol of energy and light. Food: our bodies’ fuel, the origin of our power. Sunpower Natural is a new, raw food restaurant celebrating its grand opening this Saturday June 13th from 5 – 8p.m. in Studio City. Sustainable Art the Second Saturday at Eco-La
Ever wondered what a recycled billboard would look like? You’ll have an opportunity to drive by and see it for yourself at Eco-logical Art this Saturday June 13th. The curtains drop at 7 p.m. and will unveil a 14 by 48 ft piece painted on recycled billboard. By month’s end, it will have been looked at one million times. Sunday is shaping up to be a day of sweet treats. On June 14th, you can stop by the “No Cookie Left Behind” bake sale at Scoops where they’ll be featuring quiches and jams in addition to cupcakes and cookies. The event will take place from 2- 6 p.m. and proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength, which aims to eradicate childhood hunger in the United States.
