Weekend Guide
Today is Bike to Work Day and all of us nationwide are encouraged to get off our butts and onto our bikes. If you think that the city of cars (LaLa Land) isn’t participating, guess again. Metro LA is giving away prizes, free bus rides for bikers and there will be pit stops scattered all throughout the county. For more details visit our Bike to Work Week Post here. Need more motivation? Biking to work (at least 4 miles) will keep up to 20 lbs of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Not too shabby!
Location: All across Los Angeles County (listing of pit stops here) Date/Time: TODAY, all day! More information: yourdailythread.com/bike-to-work-day
Consignment Sales For One and All
A few consignment sales are popping up this weekend. One for the kiddies and one for the grown ups. Kids Consignment 4 You is taking place at the Ventura County Fair Grounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Buy or donate gently used kids clothes and toys and “green it forward.” For the grown ups, De La Barracuda is hosting their Summer Patio Sale (via Green, Grown & Sexy). There will be 25 different Hand Picked sellers and there will be nothing over $20. You’ll find vintage for men, women and other one of kind items. Plus there will be food, rotating djs and drinks to keep you entertained while you shop.

La Grande Orange Opens its Santa Monica Doors
The Santa Monica restaurant has finally opened its doors this week. Unlike the Pasadena counterpart, they don’t offer a drink discount for metro ticket holders (but who knows maybe the manager will honor it.) They also have a mini market that the Pasadena location does not have. What’s on the menu? Basically what you find down the street on Sundays at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. Expect a seasonally rotating menu with nothing but fresh, locally grown cuisine.
