Green Living
Tracy
Film recommendation: Fuel. One man’s inspirational quest to break us from our oil addiction and help shine light on (often misunderstood) biofuels, the kind not made from food.
Book recommendations: Hot, Flat and Crowded. Thomas Friedman is back. And he says the Green Revolution we need will be like no revolution the world has seen. How to Change the World: Social Entrepreneurs and the Power of Ideas. A truly inspiring snapshot of social entrepreneurs around the world. An oldie but goodie (from 2004).
On her radar: In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto and End of the Line.
Lauren (our in house GTD gal)
Book recommendations: Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity by David Allen and The Four Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss. I think that in order to be eco-fabulous you have to be mindful of your goals, strict in your efficiency of attaining them and say “no” to not only wasteful products but also to wasteful ideas and projects. These two will get you started on the path of personal organization.
Film recommendation: Planet Earth. Actually a series, not a film, but it put me in complete awe of this planet we’re attempting to preserve for future generations. The film version comes out on Earth Day.
Book recommendation: The Omnivore’s Dilemma. Currently reading this book on our cultural eating habits and food system and how they affect our health and the world we live in.
Jaclyn MullenFilm recommendation: Made In LA. An unbelievable story showing how determination and persistence can help us change the world: one cause, one stance, one story at a time.
Book recommendation: The True Power of Water: Healing and Discovering Ourselves, Masaru Emoto. Open up this book and explore a world of new possibilities regarding our relationship with water and its relationship with us. After all, its one of our most vital resources.
On her radar: Fuel returns to Beverly Hills on April 22nd. If you missed it on the first go round like I did, be sure to check it out when it returns to town. Danielle
Film recommendation: Flow poses the question: Who owns water? (and includes answers to that and other shocking water queries).
Book recommendations: Deep Economy and Simple Prosperity. Both are riveting reads for our economic, ecological times.
On her radar: Stuffed and Starved.
