Life Coach Jeanne Kuntz

Like most Americans, I come from the school of “do it yourself.”  Our culture preaches that if we pull ourselves up by our bootstraps we can make anything happen.  There is a certain amount of truth behind that sentiment, but the real truth is that we can’t do it all alone.  This fact is very hard to stomach for many of us, especially since we place such an emphasis on personal success and independence.  As I have learned the hard way, it is okay to not always succeed and it is okay to ask for help when you need it.

Life and wellness coaches have been around for some time, but my predisposition to take care of everything myself never allowed me to see what kind of support they could offer.  That was, until last year when an invitation from Jeanne Kuntz completely changed my perspective.

Jeanne is a wellness coach, yoga teacher and advocate of holistic well-being.  I sat down one evening to have a conversation with Jeanie on the phone.  Although we had never met before, I felt a strong sense of warmth and a maternal connection from the start.  We discussed my hopes and goals for ydt, my career and more.  We also discussed the different things outside of work and family that make me happy and how to make sure I implement them in my daily life.  I felt completely comfortable opening up to Jeanne and genuinely felt that she cared for me and wanted to see me succeed. After our session, Jeanne followed up with me with an email about the goals we had discussed and the steps I had committed to take to get there.

Jeanne also focuses on the body’s well-being from both a nutritional and physical perspective. On her website, yogasalad.net you can see the different programs she offers in addition to coaching, such as private yoga, nutritional guidance, workshops and more.

You can usually find Jeanne at the Mar Vista farmer’s market on Sunday mornings, conspiring with other members of the Mar Vista Green Committee to create a sustainable environment, or working with teachers and parents to create a calm inner environment.

So check in with yourself from time to time and see if you need a lil’ bit of support.

I have the pleasure of being on the Mar Vista Green Committee with Jeanne and have to say she is a driving force! She has an amazing gift for inspiring us to reach beyond what we thought we could do. Her gift is that it never feels like she is pushing and somehow she always makes you feel that it was your idea. It is a joy to work with her.
