Fulfill A Resolution, A Composting Class with Silver Lake Farms

Silver Lake Farms is hosting a composting class this Saturday. Gardening Guru Tara will show you how compost no matter how big or small your space is. “The trick balancing greens, browns, H2O and Oxygen.” If part of your New Year’s resolution is to minimize your waste, this is the perfect opportunity to learn how to make your trash into something valuable. Sustainable Sundays: Different Shades of Green

The Natural History Museum opens up its doors to be a forum for discussion with citizens and leading scientists and researchers at the museum about international conservation issues. This Sunday’s theme is “The Pursuit of Protection” there will be two discussions. At 12:30 p.m. Dr. Lawrence Barnes leads the discussion on
Long-time Inhabitants of the Sea: Whales, Dolphins, and Porpoises.” At 2:30 p.m. Dr. Lu Zhi will discuss “China: Sacred Lands and Growing Economy.” *If you say the word Conservation, you’ll save $3 off your admission.

Dim Sum Ride With the Flying Pigeon (Note not until next weekend!)

Join the cycling enthusiasts at the Flying Pigeon for their first Dim Sum Ride of 2009. The mission: ride a loaner Flying Pigeon Bicycle, taste the delicious dim sum that China Town has to offer. At the end top it off with a cocktail at Hop Louie. If play off football isn’t your thing, then this might be the way to spend your Sunday.

Just a quick note to say thank you for posting up about our ride from the Flying Pigeon.

Unfortunately, we are not doing a public ride this weekend but will be riding on the 18th.
