The Sweetest Thing: Sweet Skins Eco-Clothing

The Sweetest Thing: Sweet Skins Eco-Clothing

Designer and mother of three Mira Fannin started selling Sweet Skins clothing at an open-air market in Eugene, Oregon, and met an overwhelming demand for the simple, wearable, organic separates. Producing all her clothing in a converted garage studio, Mira later expanded her line to include a variety of ecologically sound fabrics and designs from basic tees to comfortable, casual dresses.

Sweet Skins utilizes fabrics such as eco-fleece, hemp, organic cottons and wool. The eco-fleece fabric is high-quality polar fleece, but most intriguing is that the soft material is made entirely from 2-liter pop bottles for completely sustainable production.

The bulk of the designs are crafted from hemp fiber blended with organic cotton, which undergoes a non-toxic process and comes in a variety of

treatments, including terry and jersey. In addition, all dyes used are low-impact and all paper packaging is recycled or reused.

You can’t go wrong with the Tank Tee ($35) in vibrant, fun colors or the Wide Leg Woven Pants ($95) to dress up or dress down. The comfy clothes are made even sweeter for being sustainable, low-impact, and ethically constructed.
