ydt Alert: Free Josie Maran Masacara, read Below!
Leave it to a super model to create a makeup line that is not only glamorous, but also safe, conscious, and works amazingly well. Despite being a model, Josie was never a fan of heavy makeup. She always found natural appearances to be the most beautiful. As her career took off she realized the power of makeup, learned all the secrets, and saw how it could not only transform ones physical image but mood as well.
Becoming a mom is what set Josie on her current path, she asked herself, “What can I do for the world, and how can I contribute?” This internal questioning inspired her to create Josie Maran Cosmetics. Her products are not only made with the most superb ingredients, but use environmentally conscious initiatives whenever possible. She also houses all of her products in biodegradable “eco-chic” packaging. “Luxury with a Conscious”
is the line’s motto, and it speaks volumes of truth. The mascara doesn’t clump, the eyeliner doesn’t smudge, the eye shadows and powders are long lasting and come in adorable containers that the strictest Stilla users would adore. If you’ve been curious about trying eco-friendly makeup, this is the line to get you started. You won’t miss all of the gross stuff that most brands carry like parabens, lead, petrochemicals, etc. But you will get all the benefits, like stunning eyes, a sultry pout, and long lushes lashes.
Josie focuses on personal responsibility and does her part by through working with Global Green to support new green schools in underprivilleged areas and with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics to ensure her products and others have “a meaningful commitment to eliminate carcinogens, mutagens and reproductive toxins from personal care products.”
Be sure to stop by the Josie Maran Booth to see and sample the products for your self this weekend at the Eco Gift Festival.

Instead of using harsh astringents on my face, I use natural witch hazel.

I have recently discovered Bare Minerals, I think it is a fantastic product.
Also, my mom recommends this highly, when the cold weather leaves hands dry and gross looking a little salt scrub can freshen them up. If in the kitchen grab a little olive oil and a little salt or even sugar, rub over your hands and then rise under water, the oil will help moisturize nicely as well!

I think this product sounds great! I love the slogan, “Luxury with a conscience”… I can’t tell you how many mascaras I go through a year trying to find one that doesn’t clump, doesn’t run out in a week, and especially one that doesn’t make my eyelashes fall off. I hate waterproof mascaras because, sure, they last long – but they also require a brillow pad to get them off and I usually lose half of my eyelashes in the process. Anyway, it’s refreshing to hear about a supermodel who thought deeply about giving back to realm that she probably knows a lot about. Great article
) And I LOVE the look of the new site ;o)

I just wanted to use less make-up…laziness I guess =) That was how it started anyway. Now I am enjoying mineral based powders as an alternative to the many YEARS I had been putting chemical infused foundation on my face. I noticed a difference within days. I have been blessed with skin that has people saying I look almost 10 years younger than my birth certificate, but if I don’t take care of my skin now that could change fast.

I’m curious to try Josie’s powders. Because I am a big fan of mineral powders, like others above have noted. I tried Bare Minerals and liked them. But my favorite right now is the Arbonne. I just feel like I glow, but it doesn’t clog my pores or dry me out. I have tried some of Josie’s products. The mascara is great for the first month or so, but I found it dried out more quickly than others. Maybe thats the trade off. I was also very disappointed with the stick concealer. So dry and hard. I could not just “draw” it on my face the way I could with others. I had to sorta warm it up in my hand to make it go on smoothly. Did I just get a bad batch? I know 99% of people I talk to LOVE her products, so maybe I’ll have to try a second chance.

Chivas soap! Doesn’t dry out my skin and smells amazing.

I use Egyptian Magic Cream every day, for lips, hands, cuticles, neck and face–even hair. It has some healing properties because of the bee propolis, and my skin loves it.
