w: wellness & beauty: When was the last time you did Gymnastics?
September 3rd, 2008. Written By Amanda Milewski.
The Summer 2008 Olympics have definitely kept me entertained for the last two and a half weeks. As the monumental, worldwide event came to a ceremonious close, I realized how much I really had been inspired by all of the athletes, especially gymnasts. My new found inspiration led me to The Los Angles School of Gymnastics in Culver City.
The Los Angeles School of Gymnastics offers an array of classes; the adult co-ed classes caught my eye! Operating since 1975, the school is led by past Olympic Coaches as well as other safety-certified instructors. The classes are $15 for a one hour class and consist of a warm-up, followed by instructors that teach the students at their own individual pace. There is an emphasis placed on balance, flexibility and overall strength. The atmosphere is fun and unlike a conventional gym class. It’s not a typical workout for adults, but the instructors promise that these enjoyable and rigorous classes will definitely get anybody in shape! There website has a full list of classes and schedules.
The School is located at 8450 Higuera Street (b/w Hayden & Jefferson), Culver City, 90232. They also have a second location at the Jewish Community Center: 5870 Olympic Blvd. (b/w Fairfax & Hauser), Los Angeles, 90036.
