If you haven’t joined in yet, then the 2-Mile Challenge is your opportunity. The people at Clif Bar are challenging us urban dwellers to ride our bikes once a week to help reduce global warming. According to their research, 40% of urban travel is two miles or less. Using their online map you can discover destinations that are within two miles of your home and easily accessible by bicycle.
So how does your cycling break down? According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, one round trip (approx 4 miles) on your bicycle can keep up to 20 pounds of carbon and other pollutants out of the air.
Plus, continuous biking provides a great source of exercise, stress relief and overall improved health.
Check out the Clif Bar 2-Mile Challenge website to learn more about the connection between bicycling and a healthy planet, gain access to their Bike Builder Tool that helps you design and figure out which bicycle best fits your needs, and to sign up for the challenge and get your cycling on!
