August 13th, 2008. Written By Amanda Milewski.
Driving down Magnolia Boulevard in NoHo, you can’t miss the color façade that belongs to the one-of-a-kind yoga studio, Yoga Groove. Inside the serene studio you’ll find owner and instructor, Karen Russell, leading one of the numerous classes that is offered while live music quietly plays in the background. On the extensive list of daily offerings, you’ll find all types of yoga for all levels, including Russell’s own creations, “Yoga Flow” and “Yoga Groove.”
Yoga Groove also offers workshops that focus on restorative and therapeutic aspects of yoga. The next workshop, “Moving Through Cancer” is designed for current patients, survivors and anyone else that would like to facilitate the recovery process. The atmosphere of the two-hour workshop beginning at 2 p.m. on August 17th is promised to be “light-hearted and safe” and will demonstrate how yoga is a way to complement western medicine when dealing with illness. The workshop is based on donations with $20 being suggested.
New students pay only $25 for unlimited classes for the first two weeks! For further pricing and daily class schedules, visit YogaGroovesStudio.com.
