w: wellness & beauty: Acquarella Nail Polish: Color Me Happy and Healthy!
August 6th, 2008. Written By Amanda Milewski.I love the way my nails look after a simple application of nail polish; I don’t love the numerous toxic ingredients found in said polish. The harsh odor that is emitted when opening a bottle of nail polish or nail polish remover is the first indication that some pretty scary ingredients are utilized. I wondered if there was a product out there that could satisfy my desire of lacquered nails without doubling as smelling salts. Acquarella polish and remover was my answer.
The prevalent ingredient (along with only a few others) found in Acquarella polish is water. The uniquenon-toxic formula is what sets it apart from conventional polishes. When first using their products, I followed their brief list of tips that were included with the polish for the best application results. The process was made easier when I learned that there was no base or top coats required since Acquarella is a three in one product!
From the 20 shades that they produce, I chose “Demure” which dried quickly and resulted in the most perfect shade of soft pink. Being a water-based polish, I was skeptical as to how long the look would last; after a week, the polish was chipping which is comparable to the longevity of most applications. To my delight, the Aquarella polish remover, much like the polish itself, had virtually no odor!
This exceptional polish and remover that won’t harm you or the environment can be purchased on Acquarella’s website for $18 and $6 respectively at www.acquarellapolish.com.
