Great Outdoors Los Angeles hosts a weekly hike on Thursdays that isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s five miles round trip and is described as “not for beginners,” but if you are fit and you know it then meet up with fellow hikers and your tour guide at 7 p.m. in the courtyard next to Griffith Park Headquarters. Enjoy these warm summer nights and the beautiful view of the city lights once you reach the top of the mountain. And if you aren’t in the best of shape, why not check out their Monday night strolls, sure to quench your hiking thirst!

SUDS UP: Party at The Hollywood Car Wash

Antics, hosted by Toyota Matrix, is hosting a party at The Hollywood Car Wash this Friday featuring an art installation, music by Squeak E. Clean and an exhibition by the Girl Skateboard’s pro team. There will also be live screen-printing for party-goers and a movie lounge. Sure, this event screams guerilla marketing, but it also sounds like fun. Plus its FREE so you’ve got nothing to lose. Head downtown to USC’s campus for a two-day symposium on Building Information Modeling and Sustainable Design. WATCH: Films in Old Pasadena

This weekend Pasadena’s film festival begins with various unknown and classic movies shown in the great outdoors at One Colorado. Friday kicks off with shorts by young filmmakers from the Pasadena area, moves on to a screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and ends with the original War of the Worlds. Saturday, will again start screenings of original student work and then another Audrey Hepburn classic, My Fair Lady. The festival continues for two more weekends, ending with an all night showing of The Lord of The Rings Trilogy. Learn More.
