The Hollywood Hills aren’t the only place to find trails. Despite a skyline that can look like flat, suburban sprawl, Los Angeles is full of excellent places to hike. But if you are like I was six months ago and have no idea where to start, LAMountains.com is a resource for you.
LAMountains.com is maintained by the Mountains Recreation and Conservatory Authority. It provides information on area parks, beaches, hiking, biking, equestrian trails, and, of course, dog parks all through Los Angeles. It has an easy search feature that allows you to search by mountain region or you can get as specific as zip code.
The site also has an updated events calendar, and various ways to volunteer and get involved, all while appreciating the outdoors. If you’re looking for an outdoor place to have a wedding or other event, its staff can help you plan and pick out the park that is perfect for your special day.One of the best things about Southern California is our access to natural beauty, so don’t waste your summer away with the AC on. Get outside, get some fresh air, and go explore what L.A. truly has to offer.
