Eat & Drink
Like many chocolate lovers, my fondness began on the playground with M&M’s and Twix bars. Not surprising, since there are few foods that have the power to make so many people happy. Theo Chocolate makes chocolate an even sweeter – and sophisticated – treat with its rich, artisanal creations and organic and Fair Trade™ business practices. (Learn more about what we mean by Fair Trade.)
Award-winning Theo Chocolate is one of just 12 “bean-to-bar” makers of organic, Fair Trade™ Certified chocolate in the United States – meaning they control the entire manufacturing process, from sourcing their all-organic cocoa beans to making the finished bar.
In addition, this socially conscious chocolatier takes great care in creating its premium chocolates by carefully coaxing cocoa beans to bring out the flavor distinctive of their origins, and using ingredients such as rich cocoa butter rather than cheaper substitutes like vegetable oils or soy lecithin for a smooth, creamy texture.
Theo Chocolate features 3 different lines of gourmet chocolate:
Theo Origin: Dark chocolate bars are made from cocoa beans derived from countries including Ghana and Madagascar, with cacao content ranging from 65% to an ultra-dark and antioxidant-rich 91%. Plus, all Theo Origin chocolate bars are vegan and soy-free.
3400 Phinney: Organic, Fair Trade™ certified chocolate bars in wonderfully innovative flavors such as Fig, Fennel & Almond, Coconut Curry, and my personal favorite, a rich Hazelnut Crunch. Named for the address of the Theo Chocolate factory in Seattle, 3400 Phinney bars are wrapped in whimsical wrappers as charming as the chocolates they contain.
Theo Confection: A selection of chocolates, ganaches and pralines for sophisticated palates with flavors such as Earl Grey, burnt sugar, mint, and scotch, as well as seasonal flavors like as basil, raspberry and chipotle spice.
Delicious as well as socially and environmentally conscious? We think we just fell a little more in love with chocolate.
