LISTEN: The Duke Spirit

KCRW presents this evening at The Troubadour with The Duke Spirit, a London-based band whose sound is The Velvet Underground for 2008. Their newest album “Neptune,” has just been released and with a more refined sound this band has hit its stride. You are sure to hear more and more about them in the coming year. If you long for a replacement Nico, check out this female-fronted band and that hole in your heart will be filled.

LOOKING AHEAD: Mortified

Yours truly will be performing in the next round of Mortified

in Los Angeles, which just so happens to be next Wednesday, May 14th. Mortified is a show where seven people read aloud from their diaries of youth, exposing embarrassing and eye-opening moments from their pasts. So if you want to see a ydt staffer bare her 7th grade soul then please come to the show! Tickets sell out quick so I highly suggest buying them online.

Wednesday, May 14 @ 8 p.m.
