Green & Good
TreePeople’s Mother’s Day Tree Dedications are here!
You can give your mom the gift of life this week and honor how she did the same for you all those years ago (only you can do it in less than nine minutes without any painful contractions). Plus, you can contribute to the work Tree People is doing to help nature heal our city through its tree-plantings, education, and efforts to conserve and capture water.
One of our local non-profit heroes, TP’s arboreal efforts have been in gear since Andy Lipkis, then a teenager, famously started planting smog-resistant trees in L.A. area mountains over 30 years ago. You can read the whole story here.
While momma may not be able to go visit her specific tree, she’ll get a lovely (recycled) card commemorating her and the baby tree that’s growing in the urban forest in her honor.
It’s just $25.00 for one tree or $100.00 for a whole grove. Shop TreePeople here for your mom’s very own tree.
And find out how you can get involved with planting in your neck of the woods here.
If you do opt for a traditional bouquet, make sure the flowers you choose are organic and locally grown. Blooms like that should be easy to find at your local farmers’ market, or you can have some delivered by California Organic Flowers, a small family farm in Chico. Check out their Mother’s Day bouquets here (I’m partial to the peonies).

I own an organic and eco friendly full service flower shop in Woodland Hills, CA. We deliver all over the LA area and support local non profits.
Our Mother’s day specials are locally and sustainably grown flowers in a Rebagz (a bag made out of recycled juice boxes). Proceeds from these arrangements will benefit Beyond Shelter and Good Shepherd

Thanks, Sherene. Your shop looks lovely and you’re doing great work in the world, too. I hope our readers keep you in mind for this weekend and the future.
