Green Your Workout

Green Your Workout

A few weeks ago I posted an article with a link by Kathy Kaehler from msnbc.com about the benefits of a “green” workout.

It seems that one of the best ways to “green” your workout is to leave the gym and go outside and play. That way, you’re not plugging anything in to get your work out. Plus, you get to connect to the outdoors. Outdoor team sports is a great simple solution for this. The only problem is it can be hard to find this play time in the average person’s schedule. Fortunately for us there is Coed Sports L.A., a simple to use website that allows you to sign up for a variety of team events one game at a time. Let playtime begin!

You can get the perks of being part of a team without the commitment of a full season, buying uniforms, or team dues. But of course you reap the benefits of exercise and meeting new people with similar interests. If you’re an adventurous person, you can even try a new sport every week. They offer the basics like basketball, football, softball, volleyball and soccer, and even the avant-garde sports–broomball, Ultimate Frisbee, and my personal new favorite: dodgeball.

Coed Sports L.A. has also started having socials at bars and restaurants throughout the city for players to get together off the field.

Each game usually has a small fee between $5 and $10.

You can sign up 24 hours a day online

See you on the greens!
