Los Angeles Green Living Expo : This free, monster event at the Convention Center will have over 200 exhibits from green remodeling materials to hybrid cars to eco-fashion to organic food. You’ll go home laden with samples, information and local resources to turn to when you want non-toxic paint, a fuel efficient vehicle or bamboo clothing.
Saturday and Sunday, April 12th and 13th
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Earth Day Expo 2008: Sponsored by the L.A. Zoo and K-Earth 101, this kid-friendly event will have characters like Rascal the Recycling Raccoon who exemplify environmental practices as well as local wildlife. (Free with zoo admission fee.)
Saturday and Sunday, April 19th and 20th 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Green Apple Earth Day Festival : Green Apple is hosting an afternoon of music on the Santa Monica Pier in honor of Earth Day this year. Performers will include Ziggy Marley, guitar legend Taj Mahal and the School of Rock Hollywood Allstars.

Noon to 6:00 p.m.
Earth Day Car Free Day: On April 22nd, Earthy Day itself, The Wilshire Center Business Improvement Corporation is sponsoring a car free festival on, you guessed it, Wilshire Boulevard between Western and Harvard. There will be live music including Michael Franti, free reusable shopping bags and a musical yoga experience with Seane Corn, among other happenings. But, as it’s L.A.’s Car Free Day (http://www.carfreedays.org/), if you can’t get there on your own two feet or public transportation, stay home and read an inspirational book instead.

City of Pasadena and Armory Center for the Arts Greening the Earth Day: This annual festival has it all: live world music, arts projects and booth upon booth exhibiting information and wares for the environmentally-conscious citizen to take advantage of (and there are always freebies, too).
