The creation of Urth Yoga came from a group of friends who wanted to create an oasis for people in Silver Lake to come and practice yoga in an environmentally safe place with easygoing instructors. To achieve this, they take care in everything that goes into the studio space–including the paint on the walls and the coating on the floor. Even the cleaning is done with non-toxic cleaners with an emphasis on organic and fair trade products whenever possible, and of course the mats provided there are latex and PVC (polyvinyl chloride) free. The also offer locally produced yoga wear from LA MADE and eco friendly mats and accessories from Bare Foot Yoga Co.

All the teachers have completed Anusara training, and most are dedicated soley to that path while others are inspired by different practices as well and infuse those teachings into their classes. All of them strive to lead students to a deeper relationship between their bodies, mind, and nature.
