Beauty & Style

This Saturday, April 5th, Bloomingdale’s at South Coast Plaza hosts its CHANGING/TIDE event. Socially-conscious brands Apolis Activism and TOMS shoes will showcase their spring lines in conjunction with the nonprofit organizations Invisible Children and charity: water. The trunk show gives you an opportunity to preview and shop new styles in the name of a few worthy causes.
Some background on the participants:
Apolis translates to “a citizen of no country” and refers to the belief that aiding humanity should be our common cause, regardless of nationality and borders. Each Apolis item bears a trademark red stitch resembling a first-aid emblem, a symbol of the designers’ commitment to humanitarianism and social activism. Apolis provides financial resources to nonprofit organizations to increase awareness about various social causes.

TOMS shoes are based on a simple concept – buy a pair of shoes, and the company will donate a pair to disadvantaged children on your behalf. All of their shoes are manufactured under fair labor practices.
Invisible Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing aid through education and economic opportunities in regions of conflict.
charity: water works to provide clean, safe drinking water and sanitation systems to communities in need
