Follow Your Heart Market

EAT – Follow Your Heart!

Follow Your Heart Market is one of the oldest natural food stores in Los Angeles, and not only does it carry amazing organic food, but also stocks eco-friendly gifts and cosmetics. Tucked away in the back of the store is an amazing café that serves up vegetarian delights daily and has been voted one of the top eight vegetarian restaurants in California by the Vegetarian Resource Group. So if you live in the Valley or have been DYING for a reason to go there (I’m sure you have been), then Follow Your Heart Market and Café is your answer!

WALK – Brewery Art Walk

The Brewery
is an artists’ colony located in a converted brewery in Downtown Los Angeles. Twice a year they open their homes and galleries to the public, and art-lovers of all kinds are invited to enjoy and buy original artwork. You can expect to find unique photographs, paintings and clothes for sale, and even if you aren’t looking to buy it’s still something worth experiencing. The event is free and parking is available on site, this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

2100 North Main St. 90031

CONTRIBUTE – Love on the Rox for Heal the Bay

Head out to the Roxy on April 9th at 9 p.m. for a benefit to help Heal the Bay. There is no cover, but there will be a silent auction and more opportunities to learn how to contribute and meet like-minded people. DJ Pudgy Weston will be there (I don’t know who that is either, but his name is fun to say, go on, say it once out loud… for me), and it will be a fun event, all in the name of helping out a great organization.

LISTEN – Minnie Driver sings at Hotel Café

Ok, so who knew Minnie Driver even existed any more? I did. And her folky music will be on display this Saturday at Hotel Café, one of my favorite venues in Los Angeles. You’re welcome to dine while watching the act, and the intimate setting will make you feel like you are at a college open-mic night more than at a professional performance (but of course with higher professionalism and talent). So if you need your fill of Minnie Driver, or would rather wait and check out the Jukebox Junkies after her set then the Hotel Café is where you should be Saturday night. And with tickets for only $10, you aren’t risking much; because I guarantee you’ll like the location. So how about them apples?!
