Get Rushed (Organically) in Pasadena

Lucky for us Eastsiders, a number of green stores have popped up on our side of the city in the last year. Organic Rush was one of the first. Owners and couple Ryan and Nicole Mun opened its doors in the historic Mission District of South Pasadena in July 2006 alongside an old-fashioned ice creamery, antique shops, a video store, and not only a Metro Gold Line stop, but a thriving Thursday afternoon farmers market as well.

Each eco-friendly store has its own distinct essence. If I had to sum up Organic Rush’s in one word: pamper. The smells when you walk in the door are already announcing some of the treats that await. Inside, the shelves are stuffed with healthy candles, scented diffusers, specialty fair-trade teas and teaware for tranquil afternoons, luxurious kimono robes, soft, organic bedding, holistic beauty and wellness books, natural skin care offerings, sweet gift baskets and body scrubbers of all stripes.

So, if you’re looking for a V-day gift for someone else or for yourself, and you want pure, planet-friendly pampering, this just might be the place. They’ve even got recycled cards and grow-a-notes for just the message you want to send.

If you can’t make it out to South Pas, it has an online store that’s as indulgent, minus the scent of flowers while you shop.

Why Organic? See what Organic Rush has to say about that here.
